LEICESTER’S NDL newcomer Cooper Rushen is targeting a heat-leader berth by the end of his first season in the sport.
Rushen, who will turn 15 at the end of March, will be racing for the Lion Cubs as they defend the third-tier title, and he also has a place with King’s Lynn in the NDT.
And following several excellent results at Youth level both in the UK and abroad, he’s ready to take the step up to official league racing in 2025.
He said: “I’d like to get off to a really good start in the National League and maybe end up at the end of the season in the main body of my teams, maybe as a No. 1 or a No. 5 which would be really cool.
“But I need to keep my feet grounded and see what happens, because racing is a funny sport and you never know what’s going to happen!
“One minute you’ll be scoring an 18-point maximum and the next minute you’re scoring three points. There’s such a difference, and the mental side is a big part of things.”
